Black and white filters are a girl's best friend on no make-up days;)
Today is the big 39 week mark, and I officially have 7 days until my due date! To say that time has flown by is a freaking understatement. I seriously do not know where the H-E-double-hockey-sticks the time went. Emotions have been off the charts for Todd and I. We're so excited! But also very nervous. Let's be real. Bringing a new baby into the world is the ultimate commitment.

As my mom likes to refer to it, Todd and I have had multiple "come to Jesus" moments recently concerning Reese's arrival and our soon-to-be roles as her parents...it's been pretty awesome and we've totally nailed the whole marriage communication bit. Yes, we both have our concerns and have both thrown around the "are we going to be good parents" monologue...BUT we really can't wait to be parents and know that her little toosh is popping out exactly when God intended it to.
One of those "come to Jesus" moments was the other night, Todd shared this scripture in Luke 9 with me. Jesus sat a child in His lap and took the child in His arms and then said to His disciples...
"Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great."
Both of our confidences and spirits spiked after reading that. By being a mom, being a dad, and loving Reese with every ounce of who we are, we are letting the light of Christ into our lives! This little angel is going to be dropped on our laps straight from heaven. What more could ya ask for?
So yesterday, I went in for my weekly check-up, and I was a whopping 2 cm dilated and my cervix was very, very thin. Dr. Judd gave me the okay to be induced on Thursday (if I would even make it that far)! I wanted to go home and talk to Todd about it and decide what we would do. Todd has exams coming up the week that Reese is due, and according to the doctor, she probably won't wait until the 17th. We thought it through and sent some prayers to the big man upstairs and both felt like Thursday was the day. I waited to call until this morning to set up the induction. I woke up right when they opened this morning and gave them a ring. Induction appointment...check! Oh wait...
An hour later, I got a call from the hospital saying that they were actually full for inductions that day and were so sorry for the misunderstanding. Yeah...I was sorry for the misunderstanding too. But I guess what will be will be! I've only just come to terms with the failed induction appointment and false hopes though...I was pretty ticked about it right after the fact. Maybe she'll come by then on her own! Crossing my fingers. And Todd and I are going walking tonight. POWER WALKING BABY. I know it's not a surefire way to kick in contractions, but we're gonna give it a shot!
On the technological side of life...Todd sends me the most wonderful things.
