Todd passed this video along to me.
This is amazing! You go girl!

"I am much more than a number on a scale."

"To all of the children out there who are lost, who are struggling with your weight, with the color of your skin, your sexual preference, your disability, even the acne on your face, listen to me right now.  Do not let your self worth be defined by bullies."

This can obviously be applied to far more than just children; you can easily replace children with adults, and the word bully can refer to far more than your cliche, muscley 8th grader who roams the halls at school picking on younger, defenseless 5th graders.

As a teacher, I know that bullying is something real, and it's something a lot my students will face as they grow up.  It makes me so sad.  This video reminded me of one of the reasons I want to be a teacher.  I want to fight hatred with my students.  I want to teach them to be kind and to accept their peers' differences.  I want to love them and create a safe environment for them.  I don't know a lot, but I know that's one of the things I want to do with my life.
